Non-formal Education

Outside of school education is education designed to residents learn to have the type of skills and or knowledge and experience that was made outside the formal education (schooling).

Characteristics of Non-formal Education:

-Out of School Education as Subtitute of school education. This means that special education school to replace the path of education that school because some people can not follow the path of education in schooling (formal). Examples: Pursue Package A, B and C

-Out of School Education as school education Supplement. This means that education outside the school implemented to increase knowledge, skills acquired from school education or less. For example: private, tutoring, training

-Out of School Education as a complement of school education. This means that education outside the school implemented to complement the knowledge and skills that are lacking or not available in school education. For example: Course, try out, training etc.

In the Law No. 20 of 2003 on National Education System, candidly and explicitly stated that non-formal education will continue to be cultivated in order to realize a community-based education, and is responsible governments participate in the ongoing non-formal education as an effort to complete the 9-year compulsory education .

Within the framework of the elaboration and distribution of Special Education, gradually will be increased coverage of services and the role of society and government to explore and exploit the full potential of community to support of Special Education. Plan a good strategy ditngkat provincial or district of the city namely:

a. Expansion of distribution and coverage of early childhood education

b. Improved equity, coverage and service quality equivalent A chase pack,and chasing pack junior high B

c. lliteracy eradication through functional literacy programs

d. The expansion, equity, and improving the quality of women's education, Parent Education Program (Parenting)

e. The expansion, equity, and quality improvement through a program of continuing education courses, study groups of business, internships, scholarships / courses;

Out of School Education is the responsibility of society and government in line with Community-Based Education. Operation of Non-Formal Education is empowering the community as implementing, and controlling
